2600 metres

Monday

I had one of those weak moments and wavered before swimming on Wed. I often have them but after I have been and done the swim/bike/run session I always feel better for it. It's almost worth having these moments to feel so good about having completed the session afterwards. So Wednesdays excuse could easily have been, 'the trunks are in the washing machine', and I was happy on the couch of doom when I heard the washing machine finish its cycle. Ummmm dilemma. 'Do I go or do I stay now?' I went. The warm up was 10x50 alternate front/back. Then 4x100 IM. Then 3000m swum as 3 sets of 10x100 on 2:30 (or something!) basically you swim 100m, rest 5/10 seconds, repeat 10 times, then rest for 2 minutes and do it again and again. Well I did not make it all the way. 1000m was OK(ish), then the next 700 was a struggle and everyone else (except 1) had jumped out by the time I got to 700m. But not too shabby, 500m + 400m + 1700m = 2600m. Chuffed, never swum so far before.


Friday

New toy arrived in time for the weekend. Well 100km is a long way and I thought I would need 2 water bottles, so I need a 2 water bottle carrier, and it looks totally 'ironman', and perception is reality!
